  • Notes
    • 1722: The LDS Church's International Genealogical Index states a woman named Magdalene HOPPER was married in Monaghan to Baptist GAMBLE of Crewe, possibly 1744; no parish given. It also shows a daughter was born in Monaghan to Magdalene HOPPER and Baptist GAMBLE (no child's name or parish given) in 1722. It is highly unlikely they would have had a daughter 22 years BEFORE they were married. Could 1722 have been a misreading of 1772? Is Magdalene UNKNOWN actually Magdalene GAMBLE? And is Magdalene GAMBLE the wife of Charles MORROW?

1851 CENSUS (Amherst Island, Reel C-11712, p. 3, taken in January 1852): Magdalon was a widow living with her grandson John MORROW, his second wife Catherine PRESHO and the children of his two marriages. She reported she would be 80 on her next birthday, was born in Ireland and attended the Church of England. Based on her age, she may have been born in 1772 (census taken in 1852 minus her reported age next birthday (80) = 1772).
