180 Clarence Elwin Salls said that his grandfather, Harvey Salls, had a brother, Abraham Salls, who had lived for many years in South Bolton, Quebec, Canada & who died there. That Abraham might be this one. 181 Clarence was living about four miles east of Hardwick, Vermont on a mountain about 500 yards south of the summer camp off Vermont Route 14 with his second wife, Blanche, in 1969.
His Great-granddaughter, Angela Salls (1975), visited this home in 1997, after the death of Clarence's son, Archibald. The house was barely standing, the roof had caved in & the floor had rotted away. The furniture, including the bed (which was still made) were still inside. It appeared as if the house had been abandoned.

NEWPORT NEWS - Arnold Briggs Salls, 78, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2003. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Jan. 18, 1925, he lived on the Peninsula for 16 years.

He is survived by his wife, Marguerite Salls; children, Holly Salls, Victoria Sweet and Peter Salls; grandchildren, Eric and Andrew Sweet and Michelle Salls; sister, Louise Deed and three nieces and four nephews.

The memorial service is at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 22, in the chapel of Hidenwood Presbyterian Church in Newport News. Please make memorials to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 710 W. 68th St., New York City, 10032.
